Step-by-step explanation:

Given If (a,1), (6.b), (7,5) and  (3.2) taken in order are the  vertices of a parallelogram  then 3a+b is

  • Now we have the vertices of a parallelogram. Let P (X,Y) be the midpoint of the diagonals. So they are A(a,1), B(6,b),C(7,5) and D(3,2). Now the diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other, the co ordinates are
  •     X = 7 + a / 2 = 6 + 3 / 2
  •     Or 7 + a = 6 + 3
  •     Or 7 + a = 9
  •     Or a = 2
  • Also Y = 2 + b / 2 = 5 + 1 / 2
  •      So 2 + b = 5 + 1
  •      Or 2 + b = 6
  •      Or b = 6 – 2
  •      Or b = 4
  • So we have a = 2 and b = 4, so 3a + b = 3(2) + 4
  •                                                               = 6 + 4
  •                                                                = 10
