The EPA identified six major types of air pollutants deemed especially harmful to human health. These are carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, ozone, particulate matter and lead. Since the Clean Air Act of 1970 and the identification of these pollutants, air pollution has decreased markedly.

Air pollution occurs when harmful or excessive quantities of substances including gases, particulates, and biological molecules are introduced into Earth's atmosphere.

air is a mixture of very many gases two of the most prominent of these gases are nitrogen 78% and oxygen 21% other gases like carbon dioxide and methane Helium Ozone and water vapour are also present in very small amounts
the contamination of Air by the unwanted substances having a harmful effects on both living and nonliving things is referred to as air pollution .
all substances that could have been it here are called air pollutant
