1. The reason for the unhealthy plants can be the lack of sunlight, as the plants can not prepare food in lack of sunlight.
2. Boojho shifted the plants in sunlight so that the plant get enough sunlight to prepare the food and get the energy it requires.
3. Manures and help in conserving and enriching the fertility of the soil. By growing plants again and again on the same soil, the soil becomes deficient in nutrients. Thus it is necessary to replenish the soil with these nutrients.
4. X and Y are lichens and algae respectively. The lichens provide shelter, water and minerals to the algae and algae in return provides ready made food to lichens
