Given : parabolic mirror depth is 12 cm

          distance across the  top of the mirror  is 32 cm

to find  the distance from the vertex to

the focus.

as we know that,

the major axis of parabolic is 32 cm and

the minor axis is 12 cm

⇒ so the distance  from the vertex to the focus .

=  \sqrt{16^{2} + 6^{2} }

= 14.8

= so the distance from vertex to focus will be

    = 16-14.8

    = 1.2 cm

Hence ,  the distance from the vertex to

the focus 1.2 cm
