Let ‘X’ be the length of the tunnel. Then the train along with its length (600 Mtrs) and the length of the tunnel (X Mtrs), it takes 1 minute ( 60 seconds) to cover that distance . In other words, the train takes 60 seconds to cover the distance of X + 600 meters. Then the speed of the train is (X + 600)/60 meters per second which is equal to (X + 600) *60*60/(1000*60) Kms per Hour which would be equal to 78 kms per hour ( as given in the problem. Now equating both , we get ( X + 600) =( 78*1000*60)/(60*60) = 1300. Or X + 600 = 1300 which means X = 700 meters
