Answer:

The planter provided the seed and the drill, while the cultivators prepared the soil, sowed the seed and looked after the crop is not correct about ryot cultivation.

Explanation:

On 25c/o of land, villagers engaged in a type of farming known as ryotwari. The planters frequently required the village headman to sign a contract on behalf of the peasants. These peasants had to take care of the harvest after the planters provided them with supplies like seeds and tools.

There were two categories of raiyats under the Mughal system of land control: khudkasta and paikasta. The khudkasta raiyats were the village's long-term residents and cultivators. According to Hindu and Muslim laws of succession, their land rights were inherited. Paikasta was the name of the second variety of raiyats. They went from mauza to mauza and engaged themselves for a crop season rather than permanently cultivating land in any one mauza (lowest revenue plus village settlement unit). The paikasta raiyats often received substantially smaller rent payments than the khudkashta raiyats in terms of revenue. The khudkasta, who was now an absentee owner, received a dividend as a result of aggressive haggling.

A subset of peasants known as Pahikasht raiyats engaged in agriculture.
