ANSWER

Given:

  • Money distributed among A, B, C, D in the proportion of 5 : 2 : 4 : 3.
  • C gets 1000 Rs more than D.

To Find:

  • B's share

Solution:

We are given, that Money distributed among A, B, C, D is in the proportion of 5 : 2 : 4 : 3.

So, let the money received by A, B, C and D be 5x, 2x, 4x and 3x respectively.

We are also given that,

⇒ C received 1000 Rs more than D.

So,

⇒ 4x = 3x + 1000

Transposing 3x to LHS,

⇒ 4x - 3x = 1000

Hence,

⇒ x = 1000

Now,

⇒ B's share = 2x

But, x = 1000.

So,

⇒ B's share = 2 × 1000

⇒ B's share = 2000

Therefore, the amount recieved by B is Rs 2000.

Additional Answer:

⇒ A's share = 5x

⇒ A's share = 5 × 1000

⇒ A's share = 5000

⇒ C's share = 4x

⇒ C's share = 4 × 1000

⇒ C's share = 4000

⇒ D's share = 3x

⇒ D's share = 3 × 1000

⇒ D's share = 3000

And, total money will be:

⇒ Total money = Share of A + Share of B + Share of C + Share of D

⇒ Total money = 5000 + 2000 + 4000 + 3000

⇒ Total money = 14,000
