1. Prove that (1 + tan A - sec A) x (1 + tan A + sec A) = 2 tan A.​

Answer:

L.H.S. = ( 1 + tan A - sec A ) × ( 1 + tan A + sec A )

= 1 + tan A + sec A + tan A + tan²A + tan A sec A - sec A - tan A sec A - sec²A

= 1 + 2 tan A + tan²A - sec²A

= 1 + 2 tan A -1

= 2 tan A

R.H.S. = 2 tan A

so, L.H.S. = R.H.S.

( 1 + tan A - sec A ) × ( 1 + tan A + sec A ) = 2 tan A
