Given :
Marked price = Rs 280
Discount = 20%
Profit = 12%
Find the Selling price :-
S.P = M.P - discount% of M.P
= 280 - 20% of 280
= 280 - 56
= 224
Find the cost price :-
C.P = (S.P × 100)/(100 + Profit)
= (224 × 100)/(100 + 12)
= 22400/112
= 200
Hence,
Cost Price = Rs 200..

Answer:
Given, marked price=₹2800
Discount=20% of 2800
=20/100×2800
=₹560
Selling price=₹(2800-560)=₹2240
Let the cost price be ₹100
profit=12% of ₹100=₹12
SP=₹(100+12)
=₹112
if the SP is ₹112,then CP=₹100
if the SP is ₹2240,then
CP=₹(100/112×2240)
=₹2000
