If we choose the country India, then there was a film made on the historical struggle of the people of Champanaer who came across a major issue of paying taxation to the Britishers.

For instance, during times in the past, people had to undergo the issue of having a secure environment to live in.In order to assure their safety, the people of Champanaer would pay the Maharaja a certain tax. This tax was demanded by the Britishers who would contact the Maharaja and collect taxation from him. However, during the times of lack of rainfall the people of Champanaer would have to sell their lands for the sake of taxation.

In contrast, times today are lenient because there are ways of collection of taxation in two forms, direct and indirect taxation. Secondly, people can take out loans instead of selling off their assets. Other ways of living include how the governments differed in those times and in times today. For example democratic government versus dictatorship.

Those people had to face harder times than the people of today. They didn't have equality which is why they couldn't look for better jobs, due to social stratification.
