The farmer's wife was fed up with their constant fights. One day Jimmy, the farmer's son, was in a hurry and forgot to keep his tiffin box in his bag. As soon as he left home, Kitty and Catty jumped upon the table and opened the box Kitty ran with the slice of pizza in her mouth. Catty followed her and fought for her share. Catty said, "The pizza is mine because I saw the box first." Kitty retorted, "I opened the box and so the pizza is mine." They went on quarrelling and arguing with each other. Just then, the neighbour's dog who was passing by, stopped to listen to them. He thought to himself, “I must make use of this opportunity." He walked up to them and said, "Stop fighting. I'll solve your problem in a few seconds." He asked the cats to hand over the slice of pizza to him so that he could divide them equally. He broke it into two unequal parts and then took a bite from the bigger piece. When it became smaller, he again took a bite from the other piece to make them equal. This went on for some time till two very, very small pieces of pizza were left. By the time the cats realized what the dog was doing, it was too late as he had eaten up the whole pizza. He walked away wagging his tail. 1.
