1) No it dosent hurt the sheep

2) Shearing is done in summers (during hot weather) because sheep can survive without their protective coat of hair. (they need the coat to survive in winter)

Explanation:

1) - explanation - the shearing of sheep does not hurt it because its uppermost layer of skin is dead just as our hair.so when we cut our hair it doesnt pain ,similarly when shearing of sheep is done it does not hurt it.
