1. Renu purchases two bags of fertiliser of weights 75 kg and 69 kg. Find the maximum
value of weight which can measure the weight of the fertiliser exact number of times.
2. Three boys step off together from the same spot. Their steps measure 63 cm, 70 cm
and 77 cm respectively. What is the minimum distance each should cover so that all
can cover the distance in complete steps ?

Answer:

Weight of the first fertilizer bag = 75 kgs

Weight of the second fertilizer bag = 69 kgs

The H.C.F of 5 and 69 is the highest weight that can evaluate the exact number of times of the fertilizer.

For finding maximum weight, we have to find H.C.F. of 75 and 69.

Factors of 75 = 3 x 5 x 5

Factors of 69 = 3 x 23

H.C.F of 69 and 75 is 3

Hence, the maximum weight value is 3 kg, which can calculate the same number of times the weight of the fertilizer.

2.Step measure of 1st Boy = 63 cm

Step measure of 2nd Boy = 70 cm

Step measure of 3rd Boy = 77 cm

LCM of 63,70,77

LCM=2 × 3 × 3 × 5 × 7 × 11 = 6930

Hence, the minimum distance each should cover so that all can cover the distance in complete steps is 6930 cm.
