Take point A as reference point to measure the distance.

step 1: draw a large line and mark that point with A.

step 2: take point B on the line such that AB =3.5cm

step 3: mark a point C on the line such that BC= 1 cm.

step4: now, find the mid-point of AB and mark it as point O.

step 5: taking O as a centre and OC as a radius , draw a semi-circle.

draw a perpendicular BD which cuts the semi-circle at point D.

step 6: taking B as a centre and BD as a radius , draw an arc which cuts a horizontal line at E point.

step 7: therefore, point E is the representation of √3.5

Hello Mate!

Steps of constriction :-

1) Mark 3.5 cm from point AB.

2) Extend it by 1 cm to Point C

3) Draw a perpendicular bisectors at point O ( mid of AC ) and on point B such that it intersect at point D.

4) Measure BD and draw an arc by keeping B at center.

Hope it helps☺!
