Find - Number of children and adults

Solution - Let the number of children be x. So, the number of adults will be (35-x).

Now, the equation as per the question is -

50*(35 - x) + 35*x = 1450

1750 - 50x + 35x = 1450

1750 - 1450 = 50x - 35x

Performing subtraction

300 = 15x

Performing division

x = 300/15

x = 20

So, number of children = 20

Number of adults = 35 - x

Number of adults = 35 - 20

Number of adults = 15

Hence, 15 and 20 tickets were sold to adults and children respectively.
