Solution:

The total quantity of sugar Robert has = $\frac{24}{30}\:kg = \frac{4}{5}\:kg$

∴ The quantity of sugar used by Robert is,

=  $\frac{3}{4} \:of \:total\:quantity$

= $\frac{3}{4} \times \frac{4}{5} \:kg$

= $\frac{3}{5} \: kg$

Thus, Robert used $\underline{\bold{\frac{3}{5}\:kg}}$ of sugar in all.

Problem 2:-  

Mandy has five whole illustration board. She divided each into four equal parts. How many one-fourths are there in all if Mandy will consume only four whole sheets?

Given:

Mandy has five whole illustration board.

She divided each into four equal parts.

To find:

How many one-fourths are there in all if Mandy will consume only four whole sheets?

Solution:

The total no. of illustration boards mandy has = 5

No. of equal parts each of the illustration board is divided into is = 4

i.e., there will four one-fourths received from each illustration boards

Now, Mandy consumes only 4 out of 5 illustration boards,

∴ The total no. of on-fourths received from 4 illustration boards is,

= 4 × 4

= 16

Thus, there are 16 on-fourths in all, if Mandy consumes only 4 whole sheets.
