1. Rohan and Jhanvi together have 45 Marbles both of them lost 5 Marbles each and the product of the number of Marbles they now have is 124. we would like to find out how many Marbles they had to start with.

let rohan's marble be x
then jhani's marble be 45-x
according to question , each lost 5 marbles and given that their product must be 124 
=> (x-5)(45-x-5)=124
=> 45x-(x)sq-5/x-225+5/x+25=124
=> -(x)sq +45x-200-124=0
=> -(x)sq+36x+9x-324=0
=> x(-x+36)-9(-x+36)=0
=>(x-9)(-x+36) =0

x-9=0
x=9

-x+36=0
-x=-36 ( negative in both sides gets cancelled)
x =36
 thus rohan has 36 or 9 marbles 
jhanvi has 9 or 36 marbles
