1.Sadhika can read properly from a book but has a problem while reading from the black board in the school.

a) The child is not able to read clearly the writing on the blackboard. The child’s eye is suffering from Myopia.

(b) This defect can be removed by using a concave lens.

a) She is suffering from nearsightedness.

b) - (i) Curvature of the cornea and eye lens increases,due to which the converging power of the lens remains large.

(ii) Eye ball elongates so that the distance between the lens and the retina increases.

c) This defect can be rectified by using spectacles with concave lens of suitable focal length.

d) Image is shown above.

This lens diverges the incident rays and these diverged rays can be converged by the lens in eye to form the image on the retina.
