a) 8x + 4 = 60

8x = 56

x = 7

b) x/5 - 4 = 3

x - 20 = 15

x = 35

c) 3x/4 + 3 = 21

3x + 12 = 84

3x = 72

d) 2x - 11 = 15

2x = 26

x = 13

e) 50 - 3x = 8

-3x = -42 (Minus cancels out)

x = 14

f) (x + 19) /5 = 8

x + 19 = 40

x = 21
