Around midnight, me and my colleague decided to go home after fixing some critical bugs in the office. Due to work load that day, I forgot that my bike Yamaha RX100 needs re-fueling. After starting the bike only, I realized the situation was very bad. And as per my guess, the bike stopped in middle of the Road where no soul was there to help us. Time was around 11.45PM and the nearby fuel stations are closed. Both of our homes are at-least 10Kms away.
We started pushing the bike assuming that the big fuel pumps will be still open in the main areas. Some people gave weird look and some demotivated us that none of the fuel pumps will be open after 12 in the city.
Suddenly a person parked his scooty in-front of us. Enquired us about the situation and opened his glove box to offer us 1 litre of petrol. We are looking at each other, shocked. Said many thanks to him and asked how much should we pay. He said '44 rupees' (in 2010 that was the price of 1 litre petrol). I gave him a 50 rupee note and he gave back 6 rupees change. Then he drove off.
It was unbelievable. Most of the people passed by would have thought that we are bike theives as we didn't ask for help and that area is prone to theft. But how did he stop? We both were talking about that person for the next two days. We even started thinking whether he was real. The amazing human being I have ever met.
