Solution :-

1) 30, 40, 45, 60

==> 30 x 60=40 x 45 [Product of Extreme

= Product of Means]

==> 1800 = 1800

Hence, the products of the proportional are same. Therefore, they are in proportion.

Hence, 1800 = 1800

2) 36, 49, 6, 7

==> 36 x 7=49 x 6 [Product of Extreme

= Product of Means]

==> 252 294

Hence, the products of the proportional are not same. Therefore, they are not in proportion.

Hence, 252 294
