Answer:

sin²theta + cos²theta = 1

=> 1- sin²theta = cos²theta _____(1)

LHS = (1-sin²theta) sec²theta

= (cos²theta) sec²theta ___[from (1)]

= (cos²theta) 1/ cos²theta

____ [ since, sec theta = 1/ cos theta]

cancelling cos²theta,

LHS = 1

= RHS

LHS = RHS

Hence proved
