Officals thought that writing and preserving records was important .once this was done things could be properly studied and then debated .and the officals wrote what they felt and what they preserved for prosperty .these records do not always help us to understand what the ordinary people in the country felt and what lay behind their actions .when we search for other records we find them in plenty .we have autobiographies of important personalities ,accounts of travellers etc.so we cannot understand how history was experienced by tribes and ordinary people.
