Share of Sohan’s profit is Rs. 14222.2

Let Sohan’s capital be C1 = Rs. 80000

Let Mohan’s capital be C2 = Rs. 65000

Sohan’s time T1 = 12 months

Mohan’s time T2 = 6 months

Profit = Rs. 20000

So now, we'll find out the ratio of their profits which is -

Profit of Sohan / Profit of Mohan = (C1*T1) /(C2*T2)

= (80000*12)/(65000*6)

=960000/390000

=32/13

Hence, profit of Sohan : profit of Mohan is 32 : 13

So, Sohan’s share = (32/45)*20000 = Rs. 14222.2

Hope that helps!

Given: Sohan started a business with a capital of Rs-80000. After 6 months Mohan joined as a partner by investing Rs. 65000. After one year they earned total profit Rs. 20000.

To find: We have to find out the profit of Sohan.

Solution:

Sohan started a business with a capital of Rs-80000. After 6 months Mohan joined as a partner by investing Rs. 65000.

So, Sohan invested his amount for 12 months and Mohan invested for 6 months.

Their investment ratio is-

80000 \times 12:65000 \times 6 \\ = 32:13

This ratio is also profit ratio.

After one year they earned total profit Rs. 20000.

Sohan's profit is-

 \frac{32}{45} \times 20000 \\ = 14222

The share of Sohan in the profit is 14222.
