Solution:

1. 25+(-32)-16+12-8-(-5)

   ⇒ 25 - 32 - 16 + 12 -8 + 5

   ⇒ 25  + 12 + 5- 32 - 16 - 8

   ⇒ 42 - 56

   ⇒ -14

  Means;

 25+(-32)-16+12-8-(-5) = - 14

2. Subtract the sum of -400 and -310 from the sum of -230 and -110

   Sum of -400 and - 310 ;

   ⇒ -400 + (-310)

   ⇒  -400 -310

   ⇒  -710

  Means;

  Sum of -400 and - 310 = -710

  Sum of -230 and - 110 ;

   ⇒ -230 + (-110)

   ⇒  -230 -110

   ⇒  -340

  Means;

  Sum of -230 and - 110 = -340

 Now come to question;

 Subtract the sum of -400 and -310 from the sum of -230 and -110;

 we can also write;

 Subtract -710 from -340;

  ⇒ -340 - (-710)

  ⇒ -340 + 710

  ⇒ 370

Answer is;

After subtracting the sum of -400 and -310 from the sum of -230 and -110, we got 370

3. (-20) of (-3) + 56 / (-8)

   $\mathbf{(-20)\times (-3)+\frac{56}{(-8)}}$

  ⇒   +60 -7

  ⇒  + 53

  Answer is;

  (-20) of (-3) + 56 / (-8)  = + 53

 

4. 175 x 997 + 25 x 997

⇒ (175 + 25) x 997       (by distributive property law)

⇒ (200) x 997  

⇒ 200 x 997

⇒ 199400

 Answer is;

  175 x 997 + 25 x 997 = 199400

5. Let number of incorrect answer is X;

   Marks of incorrect answer + marks of correct answer = Total scored

   (-2)× X + (+4) × 25 = 68

   -2X + 100 = 68

    -2X = 68 -100

    -2X = -32

    2X = 32

    X = 16

 Means number of attempt incorrect questions is 16.
