It has 2 real roots.

Equation x^4+12x-5 =0 can be written as:

(x^2 - 2x+5)(x^2 + 2x-1) =0

Here ,

(x^2 - 2x+5) =0 is always positive and

(x^2 + 2x-1) =0 has 2 real roots

Therefore answer is 2.
