2 - 2x = -12

- 2x = -12 - 2

- 2x = -14

x = -14/-2

x = 7.

Verification -:

If we put 7 in the place of x, then we get -:

2 - 14 = -12

-14 = -12 - 2

-14 = -14.

x = 7 satisfies the equation. Thus the answe is 7.
