1. Solve the following pair of equations:
a) 2x + 3y = 4; 3x - 5y + 2 = 0 (by the method of elimination by substitution)​

Answer:

2x+3y=4 -(1) and 3x-5y=-2 -(2)

multiply eq.(1) by 3 and eq.(2) by 2 we get

6x+9y=12 and 6x-10y=-4

on solving we get

x=3/4 and y=16/19
