1. Solve the following pairs of equations by reducing them to a pair of linear equations:
4/x+3y=14
3/x-4y=23
please help me to solve this question ​

\dfrac{1}{x} =a\\\\then \\\\4a+3y=14.....eq(i)\\\\3a-4y=23.......eq(ii)

eq (i) * 3 - eq (ii) *  4

then

12a+9y=14\\\\12a-16y=23\\\\25y=19\\\\y=\dfrac{19}{25}

eq (i) * 4 + eq (ii) * 3

then

16a-12y=56\\\\9a-12y=69\\\\25a=125\\\\a=5\\\\a=\dfrac{1}{x} \\\\5=\dfrac{1}{x} \\\\x=\dfrac{1}{25}

so ( x, y )  =  ( \dfrac{1}{25} ,\dfrac{19}{25})
