By Substitution Method,

x + y = 7 \:  \: eqn.(1) \\ y = 7 - x \: eqn.(2) \\ put \: value \: of \: y \: in \: eqn.(3) \\ 5x + 12y = 7eqn.(3) \\ 5x + 12(7 - x) = 7 \\ 5x + 84 - 12x = 7 \\  - 7x = 7 - 84 \\  - 7x =  - 77 \\ x =   \frac{ - 77}{ - 7}  \\ x = 11 \\ put \: value \: of \: x \: in \: eqn.(2) \\ y = 7 - x \\ y = 7 -  11 \\ y =  - 4

x = 11

y = -4
