1. Solve the following simultaneous linear equations by
eliminating one variable by adding or by subtracting
the equations.
(vi) 5x = 67 – 2y; 3y = 3x + 6

Answer:

5x-2y=67×3

3x-3y=6×5

=15x-6y=201

=15x-15y=30

21y=231

=y=11
