Answer:

Let us assume

x + y = 2 - (i)

and

2x+2y=4 - (ii)

In (i) -

x = 2-y -(iii)

substitute (iii) in (ii)

2(2-y) + 2y=4

4-2y+2y = 4

∴ y=0 - (iv)

now, substitute  (iv) in (ii)

x = 2-0

x = 2

Answer:

From equation 1

x+y=2

x=2-y

put in equation 2

2x+2y=4

2(2-y)+2y=4

4-2y+2y=4

y=4-4

y=0

put the value of y in equation 1

x+y=2

x+0=2

x=2
