(1) State the factors on which strength of magnetic field produced by a solenoid
depends.
(ii) is strength of magnetic field same at all points inside a solenoid? Give reason to
support your answer. Also, give it use.
(iii) It is established that an electric current through a metallic conductor produces a
magnetic field around it. Is there a similar magnetic field produced around a thin
beam of moving
(a) a - particles,
(b) neutrons?
Justify your answer.

Answer:

1. The strength of current in the solenoid: Larger the current passed through solenoid, stronger will be the magnetic field produced.

2. The number of turns in the solenoid: Larger the number of turns in the solenoid, greater will be the magnetic field produced.
