1- State the name of the process which releases energy in the Sun. [1 mark]
2- A reaction takes place in the Sun as energy is released. Describe what happens in this reaction. [2 marks]
3- Apart from solar cells, there are other energy resources used on Earth for which the radiation from the Sun is the source. State the name of one of these energy resources and explain whether it is renewable. [2 marks]
4- State two advantages and two disadvantages of using solar cells to generate electricity. [4 marks]
This is my holiday homework.
Answers
Heya Friend,
Here are the answers:-
1). Name of the process in which Sun releases massive amounts of Energy(Including Radiations, Heat) is Nuclear Fusion Reaction.
2). Energy is released due to Nuclear Fusion Reaction, in this process, in the core of sun nuclei to separate from their electrons, due to presence of intense amount of Pressure and Temperature. Due to their separation, two hydrogen atoms fuse together to form One Helium atom. In this process, massive amount of energy is released.
4).Two advantages of using solar cells to generate electricity are:-
i). They are Renewable energy using resources, where they can utilize solar energy from sun to produce electricity in infinite amounts(Solar energy obtained from sun is available in infinite amounts).
ii). They use solar energy which is an eco friendly and non polluting type of energy production.
Now, Two disadvantages of using solar cells to generate electricity are:-
i). They require a lot of money for their maintainence and installing of their setup.
ii). Solar energy is a type of seasonal energy and they are not constant at every place on the Earth.
Hope it helps...
