1.state the property used in each of the following.

I)_4/7 5/21=5/21 _4/7

II) 3/4 (7/2 _3/8)=(3/4 7/2) _3/8

2.Fill in the blanks :

I) 4/5 7/-8=7/-8 ----

II)( 3/-5 2/-8) ---=3/-5 (4/-7 2/-8)

III) -4/7 0=---

3.If a=7/8and b=--1/7,then verify that a b=b a.

4.If x=2/5,y=- 4/3,z=8/9,then verify that x (y z)=(x y) z

A1 i)Commutative property of multiplication

ii)Commutative property of multiplication

A2 i) 4/5 x 7/-8 = 7/-8 x 4/5

ii) ( 3/-5 x 2/-8) 4/-7 =3/-5 (4/-7 x 2/-8)

iii) -4/7 x 0 = 0

A3 To prove:- a x b = b x a

LHS: a x b = 7 / 8 x 1 / 7 = 1/8

RHS: b x a = 1/7 x 7 / 8 = 1/8

LHS = RHS

A4 To prove:- x(y × z) = (x × y)z

LHS: x(y × z) = 2 / 5 (-4 / 3 × 8 / 9) = 2/5 × (-32/27) = -64/135

RHS: (x × y)z = (2/5 × -4/3) 8/9 = -8/15 × 8/9 = -64/135

LHS = RHS

Hope I helped
