1,state whether following list of numbers is an arithmetic progression ? Justify . 1,4,7,10,.....S

The given sequence is

1, 4 , 7 , 10 .........

Here first term a = 1

and now we shall see if they have a common difference it not .

Then ,

4-1 = 3

7-4=3

10-7=3

Hence they have the same difference i,e 3 .

This confirms that it is a arithmetic progression

The current list of numbers is an arithmetic progression as the list of numbers are of the form a, a+d, a+2d, a+3d,...a+(n-1)d, where a is the first term and d is the common difference.
