1. Subtract the first rational number from the second rational number

You have to make the denominator equal and do cross multiplication

5/14 - (-4/21)

LCM of 14 and 21 is 42

5/14×3/3=15/42

4/21×2/2=8/42

15-8/42=7/42=6
