Answer:
"We, the citizens of Chanderi locality of Bihar are grappled with the issues of lack of proper planning and maintenance of sewerage and drainage system which have made our life painful and miserable in the last couple of years. But now it has reached to such an extent that we find it difficult to come to terms with it. Drains on either side of the road lie inundated almost in all the months of the year and often overflows forcing people into covering up their faces while walking down the streets. Those stagnant drains have now become breeding grounds for the mosquitoes that resulted in a spread of dengue last year. Last year dengue sprang almost to the severity of epidemic which took a toll on six precious lives including an infant and a woman who was pregnant.
Though several letters written to the authority concerned, no one bothered to take this matter into cognizance and acted. Last year, we the denizens of our locality flocked together in front of the local municipal office and staged a demonstration voicing our demands of proper maintenance of the drainage system. The demonstration was put to an end followed by an assurance to take prompt action by the local municipal authority. We also went on to organize an awareness campaign to make the residents aware of the impending menace of dumping plastic waste and other garbage into the drains and surrounding water bodies."
