Dear friend the answer for this question is here;

It might be like that because while she wears two or more thinner sweater the body heat will be trapped between them but if she wears one thicker one, there won't be much heat trapped between.

Hope it helps you!

Answer:

Yes, it is possible.

When two or three sweaters are worn instead of a single sweater we feel warm as there is a layer of air trapped in between the layers. As air a bad conductor of heat, it will not escape out to create a sensation of coldness.

The heat is created by our body and is trapped in the layer and it doesn't allow this heat to escape out into the surroundings.

Why is air an insulator?

Air is not a very dense form of matter. It is just a mixture of many gases. And those substances that are not quite dense cannot conduct heat energy. Even though air is good in convection, the energy passed is very small.

Conductors and Insulators:

→ Those substances that promote the conduction of heat energy through them are known as conductors. For example, metals.

→ Those substances that does not promote the conduction of heat energy through them are known as insulators. For example, air and wood.

Insulation:

Insulation is the process of using insulators to reduce heat transfer. Thus, by trapping the heat energy an insulating environment is created.
