i) The speaker is Lushkoff.

ii) He's grateful towards Olga.

iii) It was Olga who actually cut the wood, instead of Lushkoff because he was too weak.

iv) Olga, at first, laughed at the beggar and scolded him. But later, she started pitying him and did the work herself. This changed Lushkoff as she helped her become a better and productive person.
