Here, there are 35 students and all have an age of 17. If the age of class teacher is included(total number 36), the average becomes 18. It means the teacher will have definitely 18 plus (whatever amount which increases student’s age(as from the first statement they all are 17 years old)). so, the teacher’s age will be 18+ 1*35=53.

note- (1*35, it means earlier student’s age was 17 but after including teacher, they have 18. so, every student got increment of 1, which was teacher’s age that distributed in student.)
