Q1)

Let the total age of brothers be 'y'

Let the age of 3rd brother be 'x'

ATQ

15 = y/3

y = 45 years

Total age = 45 years

15 + 12 + x = 45

27 + x = 45

x = 18 years

Age of the 3rd brother is 18 years.

Q2)

Height of four members are 1 m 60 cm , 1 m 50 cm , 1 m 10 cm and 1m 16 cm.

• 100 cm = 1 m.

Sum of height of four members = 1m 60 cm + 1m 50 cm + 1 m 10 cm + 1 m 16 cm.

=> 4 m 136 cm.

=> 5 m 36 cm

=> ( 5 × 100 + 36 ) cm

==> 536 cm.

As we know , Average = Sum of observations/ Number of observations.

So,

Average height of one member = 536/4

=> 134 cm

=> 1 m 34 cm.
