1. The base of triangular field is three 2 points
times its height. If the cost of
cultivating the field at Rs 367.20 per
hectare is Rs. 4957.20, find its base.
(1 hecter = 10000 m^2)
O (A) 900 m
O (B) 600 m

Answer is( A) 900 m

Given

Let ABC be a triangle and CD is ⊥ to AB.

Given AB = 3CD---(1)

cost of cultivating per hectare = 1080

Total cost in cultivating field ABC = 14580 Rs

So area of field ABC =

1080

14580

hectare

area of field ABC =13.5 hectare

or 135000m

2

Now we know

area of triangle =

2

1

(AB×CD)

using eq(1) we get

2

1

×3CD×CD=135000

(CD)

2

=

3

270000

=90000

CD=300m

and AB=900m

Hence height of field is =300m

and Base of field is =900m
