\LARGE\mathfrak{question}

The Co - ordinates of the point of intersection of lines as + by = 9 and bx + ay = 5 is (3,-1). Find the values of a and b.

\LARGE\mathfrak{answer}

\bullet Point of intersection will satisfy both the equations.

3a - b = 9 ... (1) × 3

3b - a = 5 ... (2)

-3a + 9a = 27

\LARGE\frac{3b-a=5}{8a=32}

\large\rm\underline\orange{a\:=\:4}

_____________________________________

\bullet On putting the value of a in equation (2)

3b - 4 = 5

3b = 5 + 4

3b = 9

b = \Large\dfrac{9}{3}

\large\rm\underline\orange{b\:=\:3}
