All it takes is a base that loses all reason and supports a man eager for the job, even if he repeatedly demonstrates that he has no aptitude for ruling, no understanding of how a government actually works, no actual understanding of science, medicine, or diplomacy, no respect for the law, other people, or conventions of the past that dictate the expected behavior of a President.
