1) The floor of a room of size 7 m 50 cm * 4 m is to be covered by rectangular tiles of size 60 cm by 50 cm.

Find

(i) the number of tiles required to cover the floor of the room .

(ii) the total cost if one dozen tiles cost ₹300.​

(i)No. of units = \frac{Area- of -full- figure}{Area of ut.}

Here, No. of tiles required = \frac{Area of room}{Area of tile}

= \frac{7.50m * 4m}{60 cm* 50 cm}

= \frac{750*400}{60*50}

= \frac{300000}{3000}

= 100 tiles

∵100 tile were used to cove the floor.

(ii)Cost of one dozen tiles = ₹300

So, cost of 1 tile = ₹300 ÷ 12 = ₹25

The floor has 100 tiles.

So, cost of 100 tiles = ₹2500

∵The cost to cover the floor is ₹2500
