A. The distance travelled by the cyclist is 40 + 50 = 70 m.

B. The displacement is the shortest length of path between the initial and final velocity. It is also the vector quantity . If for this part we talk so our displacement will be = final velocity - initial velocity = 50 - 40 = 10 m.
