The last Mahakumbh of the 20th century was held at Haridwar.

As a heaven for the nature lovers, this state offers the kaleidoscope of both Indian civilization and culture.

It is also known as the Gateway. It is otherwise called Gangadwar, Mayapuri and Kapila.

Most of the followers of both Vishnu and Shiva pronounce this state named Haridwar.
