Answer:

let the width be x and length x +1

.

perimeter= 2(l+b)

14 = 2(x+x+1)

14/2 = 2x+1

7-1= 2x

x= 3 cm

.

then , length= 3+1 = 4

width= 3

.

area= l × b

=4 × 3

= 12cm^2

Answer:-12cm²

Let the width of rectangle be = x cm

Let the length of rectangle be = x+1 cm

Perimeter of rectangle given= 14cm

We know, Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length+breadth)=14cm

So, 2(x+x+1)=14

So, 2(2x+1)=14

= (2×2x)+ (2×1)=14

= 4x+2=14

4x=14-2

4x=12

x=12/4

x=3

Therefore, length of rectangle =x= 3cm

Breadth of rectangle = (x+1)= (3+1)= 4cm

We know, area of rectangle = length×breadth

= 3cm×4cm=12cm²

THEREFORE, AREA OF RECTANGLE IS 12cm²
