Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

The length of a square field and a rectangle

field are 80 m and 100 m respectively. If

perimeter of both fields is same.

To find:-

Find the breadth of rectangle field.

Solution:-

Length of the square field = 80 m

Perimeter of a square = 4×length of the side

=>Perimeter of the given square field

=>4×80m

=>320 m

Perimeter of the square field = 320 m

Length of the given rectangular field = 100 m

Let the breadth of the rectangular field be 'b' m

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(length+breadth) units

Perimeter of the rectangular field =

=>2(100+b) m.

=>(200+2b ) m

Given that

Perimeters of the both fields are same

=>200+2b = 320

=>2b = 320 -200

=>2b = 120

=>b =120/2

=>b=60 m

Breadth = 60 m

Answer:-

Breadth of the rectangular field is 60m

Used formulae:-

  • Perimeter of a square = 4×length of the side

  • Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(length+breadth) units
